Our Story

At Flourco, we believe that good food starts with good soil. Nestled in the heart of Norwich, Ontario, our family-run farm has taken a bold step beyond traditional agriculture. Instead of simply growing crops to sell to industrial mills, we decided to close the gap between the farm and your kitchen.

We grow certified organic grains on our own land — from seed to harvest — and mill them ourselves to bring you the purest, freshest flour possible. No chemical sprays, no outsourcing, and no compromises. Our flour tells the story of full-circle farming: sustainable, transparent, and deeply rooted in care for the earth and your health.

Our journey started with a simple question: "Why not make our own flour?" With the grains already growing in our fields and a growing awareness of how industrial food systems were affecting our health, we took the leap. Today, we're proud to say: we know exactly what goes into every bag of Flourco flour, because we grew it.

What are Wheat Berries?

Wheat berries are the top part of the wheat stem that contains the grain. These wheat berries are ground into live flour. There are three parts to a wheat berry. The endosperm, the germ, and the bran. Most modern wheat flour is made only from the endosperm which contains all of the starch. The germ and the bran have the most nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Wheat berries can be bought as a whole grain, and can be ground into flour, or used as a thickener for soups and sauces. They can also be cooked like rice, or used as a base in a stir fry.
